They met in the late hours of the night at an after hours bar in Wynwood. Eli had gone to greet a familiar face he had spotted in the crowd, when he discovered Anna alongside her. The acquaintance was made, and the night took a quick turn - new curiosities, quick witted exchanges, growing intrigue, drinks, and dance moves were exchanged for hours. The following day, Eli realized he had never asked for Anna's number. After scavenging social media, he reached out.....
In the coming months, together, they would venture into every pocket of Miami - trying every hidden gem, gallery openings, forgotten architectural gems, attended costumed parties, birthdays, etc. They were different, but they they shared a relentless, insatiable appetite for the unknown. There was always something more to learn, explore, exchange - most importantly within one another. And, as it was, they soon became boyfriend and girlfriend.
Over the coming years, they would snorkel in a prehistoric underground spring, camp outdoors despite Anna's very real fear of bugs, watch the solar eclipse in Charleston, drive the Pacific Coast Highway and weave through every city on an unofficial food tour, visit unexposed beaches and jungles in Mexico, watch Eli graduate with honors from his triple degree graduate program, start new jobs, watch Anna start her own real estate group, find and nestle into their first home, tackle the global pandemic, and overcome unforeseen but very real health scares - together.
